We are SafeWork NSW Approved to deliver Traffic Control Work Training
This course addresses the skills and knowledge for those responsible for stopping and starting traffic in temporary traffic management using a stop/slow bat or boom gate AND for personnel responsible for traffic management on a site to implement a work zone traffic management plan in the immediate vicinity of a workplace.
Successful completion of this training will result in the attainment of the nationally accredited unit of competency:
- RIIWHS201E Work safely and follow WHS policies and work procedures
- RIICOM201E Communicate in the workplace
- RIIWHS205E Control traffic with a stop-slow bat
- RIIWHS206 Control traffic with portable traffic control devices and temporary traffic signs
- RIIRIS301E Apply risk management process
- RIIWHS302E Implement traffic management plans
- RIIWHS303 Position, set-up and program portable traffic control devices
Participants attend face to face training for 2 days, consisting of theory and practical activities, observations and written assessments.
Upon satisfactory completion of training, a Statement of Completion (SOC) will be issued to confirm that the participant has completed the training and achieved the competency level required to carry out the work under workplace supervision.
SOC’s are valid for 90 days from date of issue and during this time, the participants implement their newly learned skills ‘on the job’, on a minimum of three separate occasions. Students must record evidence of controlling traffic with a stop/slow bat or boom gate AND setting up work with traffic control plans each separate occasion.
An additional half day assessment, conducted by LGTI, is then also completed within the 90 day period.
Please note: Additional costs may be incurred for re-assessment or retraining, should satisfactory completion not achieved within the 90 days.
