Asbestos Handling, Chainsaw Operations and Chemical Application
ChemUse (AQF3)
This one day course has been developed to address the needs of council parks staff, as well as the broader horticulture industry. The content draws from the Code of Practice “Safe Use of Pesticides including Herbicides in Non-Agricultural Workplaces”.
The course involves both theory and practical assessment, where participants are able to practice their new skills.
Successful completion of this training will result in the attainment of the nationally accredited units of competency:
- AHCCHM307 – Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases
- AHCCHM304 – Transport and store chemicals

Public courses are held regularly at our Thornton training centre, centrally located to Newcastle, Maitland, Central Coast and the Hunter.
Students must arrive at 8:00am sharp to complete the pre-course administration. Training will commence at 8:30am. Please read your course confirmation for further information about what you should bring with you on the day.
